Abstract: The concept of cooperating objects is presented. It allows individual behavioral aspects of complex objects to be expressed via combining objects to form cooperating structures. This basic idea is applied to concurrency control. This results in a structure allowing for minimal dependance between a functional behavior and its associated concurrency control.
