This research project targets the parallel update programming of software in automotive networks.
In today's cars many electronic control units (ECUs) are networked by technologies like the Controller Area Network (CAN) and others. The deployment of flash memories in such ECUs was an enabler for initially programming or updating the software of the ECU after it has been integrated into the car. Due to delays resulting from various different factors, the sequential programming takes much time.
Thus the target of the project is to analyze and simulate the benefits of parallelization of two or more programming procedures.
